The College of Idaho ("we," "us," or "our") is committed to protecting your privacy. This Statement applies only to this website at 8.idakwah.net and governs data collection and usage. By using our website you consent to the data practices described in this statement.
Collection of Personal Information
We may collect personally identifiable information, such as your e-mail address, name, address or telephone number in the course of your visit and our business. We also collect anonymous demographic information, which is not unique to you, such as your ZIP code, age, gender, preferences, interests and favorites by automated technical means. This automation service may also collect information about your computer hardware and software. The information may include items such as your IP address, browser type, access times and referring web addresses. This information is used by us to understand our visitors and optimize the time you spend on our site.
We encourage you to review the privacy statements of sites you choose to open from our site so that you can understand how those sites collect, use and share your information. We are not responsible for the privacy statements or other content of sites beyond this one.
Information Shared with Third Parties
We may share anonymized, aggregate information with third parties in the course of conducting business. This may be so that we can receive third-party services or as part of troubleshooting or website development.
Personal information will only be shared with authorized third parties under a protective contract, and only for the express purpose of conducting our own business. We will never sell, rent or otherwise distribute your personal information for unaffiliated marketing purposes. For example, we share prospective student information with third parties to help us market to students, facilitate the application process and as required by law in statistical or compliance reporting. We may share alumni information with third parties for data cleanup and assurance services, or to enable new services. We will not provide information for a general marketing promotion, like insurance, banking or other sales. These activities are not related to our business and not part of our services to you.
Your Protections Under FERPA
Enrolled students have additional protections under the Family Educational Rights and Privacy Act of 1974 (FERPA). The Act prohibits us from sharing certain student information with anyone but the student, except as specifically permitted by law. Please visit our FERPA page for information about these enhanced student privacy rights.
